Adventures in Safe Babysitting

The Ventura County Fire Department has partnered with Ventura County Sheriff’s Office to offer a two-day Child Care Safety course for youth ages 12-17. The interactive, hands-on program is designed to teach participants how to properly care for and supervise young children and infants.

Course Fee

$25 per student to cover the cost CPR of training and certification.

Please make checks payable to VCFD. Checks can be mailed in advance or dropped off in person on the first day of class.

Course Location

The course is to be held at the VCFD training center located at:
102 Durley Avenue
Camarillo, CA 93010

Course dates:

  • No classes currently scheduled. More coming soon.

Notice to parents:

  • Parents must sign students in upon arrival to class and sign out students upon departure from class.
  • Each student must bring a sack lunch and wear sunscreen.
  • Hats and sunscreen are permitted.
  • Water will be provided.

Dress Code:

  • No open toe shoes
  • Pants, jeans or shorts
  • Collared shirts preferred, t-shirts allowed
  • No spaghetti straps, strapless, tube tops or baggy clothes
