VCFD Announces Additional Service to Thousand Oaks

VCFD increases advanced life support services to Thousand Oaks with a new firefighter-paramedic squad vehicle.  Beginning May 30, Squad-30, staffed by two firefighter-paramedics, will be in service at Fire Station 30 on Hillcrest Drive in addition to the pre-existing engine company housed at that fire station. June 1st – Brush Clearance Deadline

Thousands of letters have been sent to homeowners and property managers reminding Ventura County to clear 100 feet of brush away from properties by June 1, 2021. More than 18,500 parcels will receive Fire Hazard Reduction Program (FHRP) notices advising people to remove dry brush near open land where wildfires may occur.
