Fire Inspector
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year full-time paid experience as a fire inspector with a public
agency OR - One (1) year full-time paid experience in a related inspection field AND
- Completion of two (2) core classes from the Uniform Fire
Technology/Science curricula OR - Completion of the five (5) core classes from the Uniform Fire
Technology/Science curricula - Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
Hiring Process
Step 1: Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year full-time paid experience as a fire inspector with a public agency OR
- One (1) year full-time paid experience in a related inspection field AND
- Completion of two (2) core classes from the Uniform Fire Technology/Science curricula OR

Step 4: Oral Exam
- Applicants who pass the T&E will advance to a job-related oral exam, which evaluates the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for successful job performance. A score of seventy percent (70%) or higher is required to qualify for placement on the eligible list.
Step 5: Background Investigation
- A thorough pre-employment, post offer background investigation, which may include inquiry into past employment, education, criminal background information and driving record, is required for this position.
