Meet the Dispatcher: Robert Navarro

Robert Navarro
RN at a Cowboys game

My name is Robert Navarro. I have been in the fire service for 28 years. I am 47, and originally from Highland Park down in the Los Angeles area.

22 years, including 19 years with VCFD

I wanted a job that would allow me to help others while I was on the waiting list to become a firefighter

Knowing that I can make a difference for someone who is having an emergency. Hearing the fear and nervousness diminish in a caller’s voice because of the compassionate care that I have provided

My first childbirth call. To hear that infant take it’s first breath and cry is something you never forget.

The 911 system has greatly evolved over the years. The information that is requested by the dispatcher is the key to getting the correct response and equipment to the scene
