Station 41 History

Station 41

Fire Station 41 serves the central Simi Valley area and is the Battalion 4 Headquarters. Battalion 4 commands the Simi Valley and Moorpark areas. In 1987, a ladder truck was assigned to the station along with the engine. A new station was built in 1988 to replace the original fire station that was situated on Los Angeles Avenue and Blackstock Street. In addition to the chief officer, seven firefighters staff the Church Street Fire Station daily. Three are assigned to Engine 41; and four are assigned to the 100′ tillered Ladder Truck 41.  Reserve Engine 141 is also assigned. The ladder truck is a tractor-trailer with a steerable rear axle, providing greater maneuverability on today’s city streets. The battalion chief has a command vehicle (Battalion 4).
