Fire Station 56 serves the south coast, Yerba Buena and Deer Creek areas. The new station on Pacific Coast Highway was dedicated in December of 2008, replacing a small station that had been leased from Camp Joan Meier on Yerba Buena Rd. The new station features two engine bays, living quarters for the crew, offices, an exercise room and shop. The Malibu Fire Station is staffed by three firefighters and houses Engine 56, Brush Engine 356. Also assigned are two Rescue Water Craft (jet-ski), and Patrol 56.
