Emergencies: Dial 911
Fire Station 44 serves the western portion of the City of Simi Valley as well as the northeastern portion of the City of Thousand Oaks. Station 44 also protects the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Station 44 was built in 1989, in response to rapid growth in the Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley. So rapid was the growth that the District provided a temporary station for a year before the permanent station was ready for occupancy. The Wood Ranch Fire Station is staffed daily by four firefighters and houses Rescue Engine (Quint) 44; and Reserve Engine 144. Also housed at the Wood Ranch Fire Station is a reserve Rescue 44. Quint 44 is unique; having all the capabilities of an engine, plus it has a 75 foot aerial ladder allowing it to do the support functions of a ladder truck. Also housed at the Wood Ranch Fire Station is reserve Rescue Engine (Quint) 144 and reserve Ladder Truck 147.
